Released updated versions of all the Mitov Software's Delphi/C++ Builder RAD Studio libraries

  Hello everyone,

With the huge success that Visuino has been, many of you maybe are wondering if I have given up on the development of my Delphi and C++ Builder libraries...

Nothing can be further from the truth, the development of the libraries has continued rapidly in parallel with the Visuino work, and some of you, that have contacted me over the last few months, have received pre-release updates :-)

I have been planning an official release of the libraries for Delphi and C++ Builder for a while, but wanted to also add support for RAD Studio 10.4 Sydney. Unfortunately when RAD Studio 10.4 Sydney was released it came with some compiler bugs that make it impossible to compile my libraries with it :-( .

As result I decided to go ahead and make an updated release for RAD Studio 10.3 Rio Update 3 with all the latest features.

You can download the libraries from the Mitov Software's web site:

https://mitov.com/

This version comes with a huge number of speed, and stability improvements and enhancements across all the components, redesigned OpenWire Editor, OSX64 bit support and much more...

There is also an updated Beta release of the OpenWire Studio compatible with this release of the libraries.

If you want me to release RAD Studio 10.4 Sydney versions, please help me and vote for the bug on the Embarcadero's Quality Central site.

Here are the RAD Studio 10.4 Sydney bug links:

https://quality.embarcadero.com/browse/RSP-30215

https://quality.embarcadero.com/browse/RSP-30214

I hope you will enjoy the new release, and as soon as Embarcadero fixes the compiler, I will make sure to make release for RAD Studio 10.4 Sydney as well :-)

Cheers everyone,
  Boian Mitov

Just received LabJack U3-LV and T4 donated for the SignalLab and OpenWire Studio development + Unboxing Video

Just received 2 cool LabJack modules donated for the SignalLab and OpenWire Studio development!

Lately I have been posting mostly Visuino related updates. It is understandable. Visuino has become very popular, and there are so many new modules, gadgets, and cool robots that I keep receiving and adding in it.
This however does not mean that I have stopped work on the Mitov Software libraries. In fact not only the existing libraries have undergone major upgrade, and expansion, but there is a new library under development. The new library however will be left to be a surprise ;-)
There is also even bigger surprise hopefully coming soon to OpenWire Studio so stay tuned ;-)

Couple of days ago, I received these 2 modules from LabJack:

  • U3-LV - USB controlled module
  • T4 - USB and Ethernet controlled module

Both modules support Modbus and also have streaming functionality. The T4 even supports internal Lua scripting.
This means that both modules can be accessed from ControlLab over Modbus, and I will be working to add streaming support for them in SignalLab.

I also made Unboxing video:

And here are the modules:

I have already connected and tested the LabJack U3-LV module, installed the drivers, and have studied the Modbus registers. I plan to do some Modbus testing with it from ControlLab today, and in the following days will start work on the SignalLab streaming.

Hope to post more updates and videos on the LabJack support in ControlLab and SignalLab, so stay tuned :-)

Cheers,
  Boian

Sneak peek at the InstrumentLab Delphi running in CrossVCL on MAC

In the last 2 years, I was able to port at least partially all the Mitov Software libraries to cross platform, with one notable exception - InstrumentLab :-( .
InstrumentLab is a really cool library, but it is based on GDI+, and as such is difficult to port to other platforms... That is until now :-) .
Recently Eugene Kryukovk announced his latest ingenious project - CrossVCL!
CrossVCL allows you with minimal effort to port VCL based Delphi projects to MAC and Linux.
As soon as I learned about the library, I immediately jumped into action, trying to port the Mitov Software components to support it. CrossVCL comes with fairly decent GDI+ support, and that makes it great candidate for porting the InstrumentLab.
CrossVCL is still in Beta, and the first attempts uncovered some issues here and there, but Eugene Kryukov did a fantastic job on resolving them, and the library already starts to look the way it should on MAC.
This is screenshot of the Gauge already working on MAC:

This is still a very early version, and a lot of work remains to be done. Not all the components are working yet, but this is a great first step in the MAC port of the InstrumentLab :-).
Visuino is also largely based on GDI+ and the plan is to port it with CrossVCL to MAC and Linux, so this development is also important step of the Visuino MAC/Linux port.
I will keep posting updates on the development, so stay tuned ;-).

Business Wire: Embarcadero and Mitov Software Team up to Offer Simple, Cross-Platform AI for Developers

Fresh from Business Wire: "Embarcadero and Mitov Software Team up to Offer Simple, Cross-Platform AI for Developers".

AUSTIN, Texas--()--Embarcadero Technologies (a division of IDERA), a leading provider of software solutions for application development, today announced a partnership with Mitov Software, adding Mitov’s IntelligenceLab artificial intelligence (AI) library to Embarcadero's third party ecosystem. This makes it easy for developers to add AI and neural networks to Windows, Linux, Android and macOS applications.
“I love that Mitov Software’s IntelligenceLab takes something as complex as neural networks and artificial intelligence and makes it accessible through reusable components”
IntelligenceLab is an AI library that contains classifiers, training components and a general purpose neuron component, allowing developers to perform data grouping, spam filters, computer vision, speech recognition or any other classification task.
“I love that Mitov Software’s IntelligenceLab takes something as complex as neural networks and artificial intelligence and makes it accessible through reusable components,” said Jim McKeeth, chief developer advocate and engineer at Embarcadero. “Now all of our developers can add advanced neural networks, and other AI classifiers to their cross platform applications.”
Embarcadero’s RAD Studio, Delphi and C++Builder products have a rich third party component ecosystem for multiple platforms. IntelligenceLab, built on top of the RAD platform, is the latest example of the innovative components available to Embarcadero developers, giving them easy access to AI and neural networks so they can get to market faster with more powerful solutions.
“Offering the unique combination of native cross platform compilation and advanced modern language features such as advanced RTTI and Attributes, Delphi has made it possible to implement powerful, high performance, cross platform artificial intelligence components,” said Boian Mitov, owner and CEO of Mitov Software.

Partial port of most of the Mitov Software components to MAC and Android is now available

Hello all of you Delphi fans out there,

Over the last 2 weeks, I was able to finally repackage almost all of the libraries, so they can be compiled for MAC and Android.
Please note that I have updated the links to the latest versions of the libraries!

Not all components are ported yet, and some of the ported components are not yet fully functional in MAC and Android, but this is the very first version that really brings the libraries to multiple platforms.
In the coming months, the porting effort will continue until all parts that can be made cross platform are ported and fully operational. I will also work to make the libraries available under Linux, since they have already been made platform independent.
Here is updated set of installs for 10.1 Berlin, that has the new MAC/Android support. This is a very early version so it is expected to have a lot of problems, but you can start doing some experimenting with them:

http://labpacks.blogspot.com/2017/05/the-first-delphi-102-tokyo-compatible.html

The installers are only for 10.1 Berlin, and for now have been tested only with Delphi. I will be doing more tests in the coming days with C++ Builder, and will be doing further improvements. I will also see to post installers for XE8 and 10 Seattle as well.

The only library that is not at least partially ported for now is InstrumentLab. I need to figure out a way to make an equivalent of the GDI+ rendering for MAC and Android, before it is also ported.

Cheers,
  Boian
