Assemble Yah Boom micro:bit Robot KIT Step 3: Installing the Battery And the micro:bit Controller

Few weeks ago, I received a cool BBC micro:bit Yah Boom Robot KIT from Makerfabs donated for the Visuino development :-).

I am preparing the rest of the Assembly videos and will post them in the following days. I have also already mapping the Robot's functionality in Visuino:


Now I will try to make some Visuino tutorials for the Robot.

I am preparing the rest of the Assembly videos and will post them in the following days. I have also started mapping the Robot's functionality in Visuino, and hope to have improved support in few days.
After that I will try to make some Visuino tutorials for the Robot.

Unboxing my new Acoustic Levitation Arduino KIT from Makerfabs - Levitate anything with sound :-)

Few months ago, I saw this Really Cool Instructable on making your own Acoustic Levitator:

Made by  Asier Marzo, and I got really excited about it :-). So I contacted my good friends at Makerfabs, and suggested them to make an Acoustic Levitator KIT for it. They contacted the Asier Marzo and he agreed for such a KIT to be made.
So the Acoustic Levitator KIT is now a reality and available here:

And to thank me, the Magerfabs folks, just sent me probably the very first Acoustic Levitator KIT ! :-)

The KIT uses Arduino Nano to control the Acoustic Transducers. I plan to also experiment with other controllers to see how they will perform in the task.

Those of you that follow me, probably know that I am quite overloaded with all the work on Visuino, the Mitov Software Libraries, and all the Robots, but I will try my best to post some videos/tutorials on assembling the KIT, so stay tuned... ;-)

Received 2 great IoT Maduino - Arduino + LoRa Radio modules for Visuino from my friends at Makerfabs!

Couple of days ago, I received another great surprise. 2 Maduino 868/915 MHz LoRa Radio Modules from my good friends at Makerfabs generously donated for the Visuino development:-) .
The modules are small form factor Arduino compatible controllers with RFM95W LoRa on the board, and LiPo Battery support, which makes them perfect for implementing remote sensor or actuator projects, especially in areas that lack any other connectivity infrastructure.
Makerfabs also have 433 MHz RFM98W version of the modules.
Here are some pictures from the modules. As you can see they are, as expected from Makerfabs, of very good quality :

Each module comes with gold plated pin headers, and small antenna:







I am very thankful to my friends from Makerfabs, and I have already added support for them in Visuino . The support will be included in the next Visuino version :-)

Received 3 great GSM/GPRS/GPS IoT Maduino modules for Visuino from my friends at Makerfabs!

The last couple of weeks have been very exciting, for sure! While I was working around the clock to finish the LabPacks updates, I received quite a few great surprises for the Visuino development.
I already posted about the IOLinker FPGA modules. Then I received a full set of chipKIT modules, and even had a chance to add support for them in Visuino.
But it did not end there, I also received 3 great Maduino IoT modules from my good friends from Makerfabs :

The modules as everything made by Makerfabs are of great quality, all are GMS enabled, and here are some pictures:

I am very thankful to my friends from Makerfabs, and I am looking forward to have the modules supported by Visuino .

And my gift for the Chinese New year from Makerfabs - Combined GPS and GSM/GPRS Shield!

Happy Chinese New Year everyone!

This week I received from Makerfabs my Arduino Nano and NodeMCU IoT Starter Kit for Visuino for the upcoming IoT Bootcamp organized by Mitov Software and Embarcadero.

The great folks from Makerfabs did not miss the opportunity to surprise me with additional gift, just for the Chinese New Year! In the box was included one of their best products! A combined GPS and GSM/GPRS Shield!

As you can see from the pictures, as it has always been my experience with Makerfabs, the Shield is of a superb quality!



As all shields and modules manufactured by Makerfabs, the Shield came with QC sticker.


And with the GPS and the GSM antennas:


The Shield came well packaged, and with cushioning protection for all connector pins:



I am very thankful to my friends from Makerfabs, and wish them all, and all of you Happy Chinese New Year!

Just received my Arduino Nano and NodeMCU IoT Starter Kit for Visuino development

Today I received my Arduino Nano and NodeMCU IoT Starter Kit for Visuino development from the great folks at Makerfabs!
The inspection revealed that the components in the KIT are as promised of great quality! Thank you Makerfabs . The kit looks great! Will start using it right away, and recording the videos for the IoT Boot Camp .
As you can see from the pictures, the packaging is superb, and the main boards (controllers and OLED display ) are carefully protected from damage including with cushioning on the pins.







The controllers and the OLED Display module came well packaged and with cushioning to prevent damage to the pins (I have tried to lighten the image, so you can see the cushioning more clear ):

The kit also comes with what is probably the smallest form factor NodeMCU module. Will post more individually on this module in the coming days.
Hope to post more about the KIT and the included modules soon, as well as building instructions for number of cool projects that I have planned :-)

The first Arduino and NodeMCU Starter kit specifically designed for Visuino IoT development

The first Arduino and NodeMCU Starter kit specifically designed for Visuino IoT development is now available as result of the collaboration with the great folks at Makerfabs.





The kit includes:

    The kit includes the NodeMCU Mini from Makerfabs - a very nice small factor NodeMCU ESP8266 board designed and manufactured by Makerfabs. I am expecting to receive my kit soon, but judging by the other boards manufactured by Makerfabs, that I have received, it should be of the highest quality :-) . Although most of the other components are not manufactured by Makerfabs, they have assured me that everything will be of a good quality.

    The component from kit also will be used for the upcoming Embarcadero IoT Boot Camp.

    Just received a Maduino, a ESP8266 WiFi Shield and 2 RFM95W LoRa Shields from Makerfabs donated for the Visuino development, and the Tutorials :-)


    Just received another great surprize :-)
    Maduino UNO, one ESP8266 WIFI Shield, and two RFM95W LoRa Radio Shields(868MHz) donated by Makerfabs for the Visuino development, and the Tutorials :-)
    As you can see from the pictures, the modules are of exceptionally good quality! This matches my experience with the Arduino GPS Shield previously donated by Makerfabs . So far my experience with their products has been great!


    Looking forward to add the support for the RFM95W and do some planned improvements in the ESP8266 WiFi support, then onto some more Tutorials :-)

    Since the GPS is already available in Visuino, and I was planning a new Tutorial on GPS, it will give me the opportunity to make one with the Shield in the following days :-) .
