Hackaday LA May Meetup Last Tuesday

Last Tuesday, I attended the Hackaday LA May Meetup organized by Dan and Shulie  from Supplyframe DesignLab. It was a great event with 2 very good speakers - Mike Szczys and Alberto Molina.
The hosts also provided very tasty treats for all of us :-) .
Here are some pictures from the event:

As always, plenty of food was provided by the organizers:

Dan and Shulie kicking off the event:

Dan opening the event:

And passing the microphone to Shulie:

Always a spirited speaker :-) :

The crowd:

Alberto Molina presenting Modular Robotics:

Some of his Robots:

Mike Szczys presiding 1962 Style Discrete Analog Blink circuitry :-) :

And Joan Horvath giving a Lighting 2 minute talk on teaching Calculus with 3D Printed shapes:

Some of the cool projects displayed:

And no Hackaday event can be complete without a WiFi enabled Mouse Trap :-) :

Homebrew Arcade Games:

Or a homebrew 3D Printer:

And some pictures of me at the end of the event:

Finally a cool project that was too big for the display. A box folding robot:

Looking forward to more great events organized by Dan and Shulie :-)

Assemble Elegoo Smart Car Robot KIT 2.0 Step 8: Install the Servo turning the Ultrasonic Ranger

Couple of months ago the great folks at Elegoo sent me a beautiful Robot Kit Version 1.0.
I already posted Assembly Instructions, and some tutorials on programming it.
Since then Elegoo introduced a newer and simpler to assemble 2.0 version, and the Elegoo folks just sent me this really beautiful Smart Car Robot KIT Version 2.0 donated for the Visuino development.

I already posted:

Step 1: Assembling the Motors.
Step 2: Installing the Motors on the Chassis
Step 3: Installing the Motor Driver Board
Step 4: Installing the Line Following Sensors
Step 5: Installing the Arduino Board and the Sensors Shield
Step 6: Installing  the Infrared Remote Receiver Module

Step 7: Installing the Battery Box on the Chassis

Here is the 8th Assembly Video - Installing the Servo turning the Ultrasonic Ranger:

Earlier I also posted by mistake the 9th Assembly Video - Assembling the Ultrasonic Ranger .

I am preparing the rest of the Assembly videos and will post them in the following days. I have also already mapped the Robot's Shield functionality in Visuino.
Hopefully soon I will try to make some Visuino tutorials for the Robot.

Cheers,
  Boian

Swellington Santos just posted new Steinhart Hart Visuino component developed by him!

Swellington Santos just posted another Visuino component that he developed using the Visuino SDK :-).

Visuino Steinhart Hart Component

The component is included his Math package:
https://swellingtonsoares.xyz/componentes/33-visuino-swellington-math

Congratulations Swellington Santos ! You really seem unstoppable!

If you want to develop Visuino components, you can download the free Visuino SDK available in the Visuino G+ Community.

Currently the SDK is based on Delphi, and you will need at least the free Delphi starter edition to develop components. I am also looking into ways to allow in the future at least some components to be developed without the need of Delphi.

I am looking forward to see more people starting to develop and post Visuino components in the future :-)

Cheers,
  Boian

Creating Visuino Components Video Tutorial by Swellington Santos

Swellington Santos just posted a great Video Tutorial on creating Visuino components using the Visuino SDK and Delphi :-).

He has also posted more details and links to resources here:

The Video shows step by step how to get the Free Delphi Starter Edition, how to download and install the Visuino SDK, and how to develop and install your components in Visuino.
It is very detailed, and I am sure will be a great help to anyone who wants to develop components for Visuino !

Congratulations Swellington Santos ! You have really outdone yourself this time!

My second "Blaise Pascal Magazine" article on programming Elegoo Bluetooth Controlled Arduino Robot with Visuino and Delphi

My next Visuino and Delphi article has just been published in the "Blaise Pascal Magazinehttp://www.blaisepascal.eu :

This is Part 2. It shows you how to create Android App with Delphi to control the robot.

In the previous article, I already showed you how to program Elegoo Arduino Smart Car robot with Visuino to be controlled through Bluetooth Classic with HC-06 module.

Received some more boards to be supported by Visuino in the last few days :-)

I have been busy working on the next version of Visuino, adding support for multiple I2C channels, the new Controllino MAXI Automation, and most importantly for ESP32, including SLL support.

In the meantime I received some more modules, including 2 gorgeous Adafruit Feather M0 LoRa and Adafruit Feather 32u4 LoRa modules from Glenn Fletcher.
I also received an Adafruit Feather M0 Basic Proto from Erik Van den Broeck.
And received this nice Maple Mini clone, from RafaÅ‚ Czachurski :-) .
Thank you Glenn, Erik Van den Broeck, and RafaÅ‚ Czachurski for the generous donations!

Now that I am very much done with the important and long delayed ESP32 support, I am moving to rapidly add support for some of the other modules I received recently including these 3 boards, so look forward to seeing the boards supported by Visuino :-)
