OpenWire Editor for Visual Studio .NET

Hi Folks,

For a while the Delphi and C++ Builder users of our products have been able to enjoy the power of the OpenWire Editor, both in VCL and FireMonkey.
We are however glad to announce that we are hard at work on a .NET version for Visual Studio 2010, and expect to have it available as Beta in the next couple of weeks :-) .
Here is a screenshot of the current development version. You can see that practically all of the core functionality is fully operational :-) :

Adding VST support in AudioLab

Hi folks,

We are finally adding VST support to AudioLab. Version 2.X support is mostly done and we are working on testing and improving it.
If you are interested in evaluating it, please contact me and I will send you installer with the crrent support.
Adding fully featured 2.4 support is surely uphill battle as anyone ever done VST probably can tell you :-D . Adding proper VSTXML support alone seems to take forever :-( . We are however fully committed to properly implementing it.
As soon as the 2.X support is finished, we will start working on the 3.X support.

New 5.0.2 release of all of our VCL and .NET products.

Dear Customers,

We are proud to announce the new 32 and 64 bit 5.0.2 release for RAD Studio XE2 Update 4, and .NET .
This version contains both 32 and 64 bit version of the libraries, and includes the latest Beta FireMonkey support.

The library also includes a total rework of the .NET support.
All .NET assemblies are now implemented in C#.
There are now only managed assemblies, and all non managed assemblies are eliminated, reducing the number of necessary assemblies by half.
All assemblies contain all the necessary 32 and 64 bit DLLs and BPLs.
The need for Visual C++ .NET RTL is eliminated.

We have also released updated versions of OpenWire, the OpenWire Editor, Visual Libve Bindings preview, and IGDI+ .

New Delphi XE2 Update 4 prerelease

Dear Customers,

We have new prerelease for Delphi XE2 Update 4.
This version fixes a problem in the installer on 32 bit operating systems.
The new version also includes new hand animations in InstrumentLab, the option to specify the location of the centers in the analog instruments, and improvements in the support of control hands.
The PlotLab now has initial support for cursors, cursor links and labels in the Waterfall components. We are working on improved support for those features.
We expect to have official release with the full cursor, and cursor links support in few days.

This versions are a major upgrade from the official 5.0.1 versions.
They have 2 times less assemblies, all the assemblies are managed safecode, and all necessary DLLs are embedded into the assemblies.
The assemblies will work automatically natively both in 32 and 64 bit Windows, and contain embedded DLLs for both platforms.

The Visual C++ redistributable is also not needed any more.

In addition this version significantly improves the design time performance of the components, and fixes the WPF embedding problems.

The libraries contain 64 bit support both for VCL and FireMonkey.

At the moment there are two known problems. The NeuralNetwork throws floating point exception during training in 64 bit mode. I have already fixed the problem, and it will be included in the next build.
The DirectShow video player does not seem to generate proper OnStop event in 64 bit mode, and as result the Loop mode is not working and the video transition demo has problems.
I will be working to fix this bug as well.

Please remember. This installs are for early adopters only. These are the very first 64 bit installs and other problems are very likely to be in them. We are testing them extensively, and expect to find more issues.
We do not recommend using the 64 bit versions without extensive testing first!

Connecting to remote DirectShow Graph in 64 bit Windows 7

Hi folks,

Ever since I upgraded to 64 bit Windows 7, I have not been able to connect to remote 32 bit DirectShow graphs from GraphEdit :-( . Well... not any more :-) . Thanks to one of my customers, who unveiled the secret :-) . It turns out there is a DLL provided in the Microsoft SDK that is not registered during the install of the SDK.
To enable the functionality copy the 32 bit version of the proppage.dll from the SDK (in the 7.1 version of the SDK in C:\Program Files\Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v7.1\Bin ) to the Windows\SysWOW64 directory.
Then run the:
regsvr32.exe proppage.dll

after that you will be able to connect to the registered DirectShow graphs from GraphEdit.

First FireMonkey Beta is available

Dear Customers,

We are pleased to announce the immediate availability of the first FireMonkey Beta version of our libraries - http://www.mitov.com/downloads/featured .
This is a Delphi XE2 Update 2 version only, and it included Windows only FireMonkey support.
We are already working to add MAC and iOS support in the near future.
Any customer who has purchased VCL version in less than a year from the FireMonkey release will get the FireMonkey version for free :-) .

Visiting the Computer History Museum

Over the weekend we had a chance to visit the Computer History Museum:

It is a must see! Especially while they have the Charles Babbage's Difference engine.
You can see me here marveling at it :-) :

You can also see Melody obviously enjoying the role of the "Mad Scientist" :-) :

Here she is only reaching to the knobs, obeying the "Do not touch" sign ;-) .

I greatly recommend you visiting the place. There is so much we have forgotten or simply never knew about the early days of computing!

Delphi XE2 Update 2 and FireMonkey

Hi Folks,

Embarcadero is working hard on rapidly improving Delphi XE2 and the FireMonkey support.
Unfortunately that comes with a price :-( . They just have released Update 2 and reportedly it introduces some big changes in the VCL and FireMonkey libraries. This requires our packages to be recompiled for Update 2 in order to be compatible.

We are working to make Update 2 compatible release in the next 2 days.

We are also working hard to make a FireMonkey version for Windows available probably sometime next week. We have all the packages ready, and are in process of creating the demos and the installs.

MAC, and iOS FireMonkey versions are also under way, and should become available soon!

All existing customers that have purchased or will purchase VCL version in less than 1 year before the FireMonkey version becomes available will get it for free! :-) .
